Marie Curie

(1867-1934) Marie Curie was an outstanding Polish-French scientist who lived in the 19th and early 20th centuries. She is known for her extraordinary achievements in the field of radioactivity and for being the first person to receive two Nobel Prizes in different scientific disciplines. Together with her husband Pierre Curie, she discovered the elements radium and polonium, and developed fundamental theories about radioactivity. Her pioneering work in this field laid the foundation for numerous subsequent scientific advances, including in the fields of medicine and physics.
