Plato
(427-347 BC) Plato was a Greek philosopher, one of the most influential thinkers of antiquity. A student of Socrates and teacher of Aristotle, Plato founded the Academy of Athens, one of the first institutions of higher education in the West. His legacy lives on in his philosophical dialogues, which explore themes such as justice, virtue and the nature of knowledge. His ideas continue to be the subject of study and debate in contemporary philosophy.
