Ludwig van Beethoven

(1770-1827) Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and pianist. He is one of the most important musicians in history, considered the bridge between the Classical and Romantic periods of Western music. Despite facing the adversity of deafness throughout his life, Beethoven composed some of music’s most famous and revolutionary works, including symphonies, piano sonatas and chamber music. Beethoven is a symbol of creativity, perseverance and passion in art.
